Amazon has a lot of useful features like the Wish List that can make shopping more convenient. But they have others things, too, like streaming videos, that are great.
Amazon Prime is one of the best subscriptions that an online shopper can have. But it also comes with the added bonus of Amazon Prime videos, which are movies and TV shows that you can stream from your computer and a compatible device. The iPad is a compatible device, and there is an app that will let you watch Amazon Prime videos on your iPad.
Our tutorial below will show you what you need to do to set up the app on your iPad and start streaming your Amazon Prime movies and TV shows to your iPad.
If you aren’t sure whether or not you have Amazon Prime, then find out more with our how do I know if I have Amazon Prime tutorial.
Watch Amazon Prime Videos on an iPad
This tutorial will assume that you have an iPad that is connected to the Internet, and that you have an Amazon Prime subscription. You can read this article to learn how to connect your iPad to a wireless network, and you can click here to get a free trial of Amazon Prime.
We will be downloading an app called Amazon Instant from the App Store. You will then need to know the email address and password for your Amazon Prime account.
Step 1: Open the App Store on your iPad.
Step 2: Tap inside the Search field at the top-right of the screen.
Step 3: Type “amazon instant” into the search field, then select the “amazon instant video” search result.
Step 4: Touch the Free button to the right of the Amazon Instant app, touch Install, enter your Apple ID password, then wait for the app to install.
Step 5: Touch the Open button to launch the app.
Step 6: Type the email address and password associated with your Amazon Prime account, then touch the Sign In button.
Step 7: Browse to the Amazon Prime video that you want to watch (Prime videos have a banner at the top-left corner that say Prime on them), then touch the Play button to start watching.
This app will also provide you with access to your Amazon Instant video library, which are the movies that you own or have rented through Amazon, but which are not included with Amazon Prime. You can visit this page to see new releases and discounts that are currently available for Amazon Instant movies and TV shows.
