To log out of the Netflix app on an iPhone, open Netflix, pick a profile, go to your profile tab in the bottom-right corner, tap the menu icon at the top right, and tap Sign Out, then confirm. If you don’t have the phone with you, you can sign it out remotely from the Manage Access and Devices page in your Netflix account.
This guide covers both methods, plus how to sign out of every device at once and what to do if someone else is using your account. The remote steps and device-list notes come from Netflix Help Center’s How to sign out of a device and How to stop someone from using your account.
How to Sign Out of the Netflix App on iPhone
Use this method when you have the iPhone in your hand. It signs out only that iPhone.
- Open the Netflix app and choose a profile.
- Tap your profile tab in the bottom-right corner. It is labeled My Profile; older versions of the app labeled it My Netflix.
- Tap the menu icon (three lines) at the top right.
- Tap Sign Out.
- Tap Sign Out again to confirm.
Result: The app returns to the sign-in screen, and your profiles are no longer available on that iPhone until someone signs in again.

Netflix updates its app layout from time to time, so the tab name or menu icon may look slightly different on your phone. The sign-out option has stayed inside your profile settings across redesigns.
How to Sign Out of an iPhone Remotely
Use this method if the iPhone is lost, sold, or belongs to someone you no longer want on your account. You can do it from a computer, another phone, or a tablet. Netflix says the steps apply when you have an active subscription.
- Sign in to Netflix and go to the Manage Access and Devices page in your account.
- Find the iPhone in the list and tap or click the down arrow next to it.
- Select Sign Out.
Result: Netflix signs out that one device. Your other phones, TVs, and computers stay signed in.
What the device list shows
Netflix says the Manage Access and Devices page lists devices with recent streaming activity, along with:
- The device type
- The most recent profile used to stream on it
- The last watched date and time
Netflix also notes some limits. It can take up to 48 hours for a device to appear. Devices that haven’t been active in the last 90 days, or that were only used for Netflix games or Tudum, won’t be shown, and some devices may show incomplete information.

How to Sign Out of All Devices at Once
If you can’t tell which entry is your old iPhone, or a device is missing from the list, sign out everywhere instead.
- Go to the Manage Access and Devices page.
- At the bottom of the page, tap or click Sign Out of All Devices.
- Tap or click Sign Out to confirm.
Result: Every device on the account is removed, including your own. Netflix says you’ll need to sign in again on any device you want to keep using.
If Someone Else Is Using Your Account
Signing out alone doesn’t stop someone who knows your password from signing back in. Netflix recommends these steps:
- Change your Netflix password. Netflix suggests one that is unique to Netflix, at least 8 characters long, and mixes upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Sign out of devices you don’t recognize, or sign out of all devices.
- Sign back in on your own devices with the new password.
If you can’t reset your password, or you still see activity you don’t recognize, Netflix asks you to contact its support team.
Troubleshooting
- No Sign Out option in the menu: make sure you’re inside a profile, not on the profile picker.
- The iPhone isn’t in the device list: it may not have streamed recently, or it may not have shown up yet. Use Sign Out of All Devices instead.
- The app still opens to your profiles: Try force closing the app and reopening it, or restarting the iPhone. Remote sign-outs can take a few minutes to reach every device.
- You only want to free up space: you can delete the app instead. Netflix notes that deleting the app also deletes any titles you downloaded to the device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does signing out of Netflix delete my profile or watch history?
No. Signing out disconnects the device only. Your profiles and watch history stay with your account, so they’re there when you sign in again. To remove a profile, see how to delete a Netflix profile.
Will signing out of my iPhone sign me out on my TV?
No. Signing out inside the iPhone app affects only that iPhone. Only Sign Out of All Devices, or signing out of the TV from the Manage Access and Devices page, removes the TV.
