The steps in this section were performed on an iPhone 13 in the iOS 15.6 operating system.

These steps will help you to remove an email account that is currently set up in the default Mail app on your iPhone.

Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.

It is important to note that, before you perform this action, you are going to lose all of the data for that account that is currently stored on your phone.

So if there are a few important emails that you cannot access any other way, it is a good idea to forward them to one of your other accounts that will remain active.

If you want to remove an email account but not all of that other data then you might prefer to tap the button to the right of Mail to disable that feature rather than tap Delete account and remove everything.
