How to Remove Twitter from the Notification Center on the iPhone 5

If you use the Notification Center on your iPhone 5, then you likely realize how helpful it can be to have all of your alerts and mentions located in the same place. Many apps, such as Twitter, appear in this location, often by default, allowing you to find and create information. But if you do not want Twitter in this location anymore, but want to keep the Twitter app installed on your iPhone 5, it is possible to remove it from the Notification Center only. (Note that this does not include the “Tap to Tweet” feature of Twitter that you can see in your Notification Center. You will need to follow the steps below for the Share Widget as well if you want to remove the “Tap to Tweet” option.)

Remove Twitter from the iPhone 5 Notification Center

For the purposes of this tutorial, it is important to recognize the distinction between the Twitter app, (which we are not going to remove), and its’ appearance in the Notification Center (which we are going to remove). Many people find Twitter to be unwanted in that location, yet still want to be able to use Twitter by launching it like any other app. Following the steps below will take Twitter out of your Notification Center only.

As mentioned earlier, you will need to turn off the Notification Center option for the Share Widget as well if you want to remove the Tap to Tweet option. This will also remove the Tap to Post option for Facebook.
