- A plan that includes downloads. Disney says downloads require Disney+ Premium or a Premium bundle (such as the Disney+, Hulu Bundle Premium). Ad-supported plans, including Disney+ Basic, do not include downloads.
- The Disney+ app on your iPhone. Downloads work in the mobile app, not in a web browser.
- Free storage space. A full-length movie takes up more space at higher quality, so check your storage first.
- An internet connection to start. You need to be online to download. Wi-Fi is best, since a long movie can use a lot of cellular data.
How to Download Hamilton in the Disney+ iPhone App
- Open the Disney+ app and choose your profile. Result: the Disney+ home screen appears.
- Tap the search icon, type Hamilton, and select the movie. Result: the Hamilton details page opens.
- Tap the Download button, located below the Play button. Result: the download starts and a progress indicator appears.
- Wait for the download to finish. To pause or cancel it, tap the progress icon. Result: a device icon with a check mark appears when Hamilton is saved to your iPhone.
How to Watch Hamilton Offline
- Open the Disney+ app.
- Tap the Downloads icon. Result: every title saved on this iPhone appears.
- Press play on Hamilton. Result: the movie plays from your iPhone, with no Wi-Fi or cellular data needed.
Choose the Download Quality
Download quality controls how much space Hamilton takes up and how long it takes to download. To change it, tap your profile icon, select App Settings, then select Download Quality (called Video Quality in some versions) and pick one of these options:
- Standard: uses the least storage and downloads fastest.
- Medium: uses less storage than High and downloads faster.
- High: looks best but uses the most storage and is the slowest to download.

How Long Downloads Last
- Downloads stay on your iPhone as long as your subscription is active and you connect to the internet at least once every 30 days.
- Some titles can only stay downloaded for a limited time, and not every title can be downloaded.
- You can download on up to 10 supported mobile devices.
- Logging out of Disney+ removes all downloaded content from that device. You will need to download Hamilton again after you sign back in.
How to Delete the Hamilton Download
- Open Disney+ and tap the Downloads icon.
- Tap the device icon with the check mark next to Hamilton.
- Select Remove Download. Result: the movie is deleted from your iPhone and the space is freed up.
To remove several titles at once, tap Edit, select them, and tap the trash icon.
If the Download Button Is Missing or the Download Fails
- Check your plan. No Download button usually means your plan is ad-supported. Upgrading to Premium adds downloads.
- Check your storage. Lower the download quality or free up space if the download will not finish.
- Check the device limit. If you already download on 10 devices, remove downloads from one you no longer use.
- Update the app. Make sure you have the latest version of Disney+ from the App Store.

Can I download Hamilton on my computer?
No. Disney says content cannot be downloaded on TV-connected devices, computers, or Windows 10 and 11 tablets. Use an iPhone, iPad, or other supported mobile device.
Will a downloaded movie use my data when I watch it?
