To see how much space Disney+ downloads use on your iPhone, open Settings, tap General, tap iPhone Storage, and then tap Disney+. The number shown for the app includes the movies and episodes you have downloaded. Inside the Disney+ app, tap your profile icon and select App Settings to see how much free space your iPhone has left for new downloads.
Disney+ does not list the size of each downloaded title, so the iPhone Storage screen is the place to get a real number. The steps below follow the Disney+ Help Center article Downloads on Disney+ and Apple’s article How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad.
Before You Start
- Device: these steps are for an iPhone. Apple documents the same path on an iPad, where the menu is named iPad Storage.
- Software: the menu names match Apple’s storage article as updated in September 2026. On a much older version of iOS the wording can differ slightly.
- Plan: downloads are not part of every Disney+ plan. In the US, Disney+ lists Disney+ Premium and its Premium bundles as the plans that can download. If you have never downloaded anything, Disney+ will only take up the space of the app itself.
- Sign-in: stay signed in while you check. Disney+ says logging out of your account removes all downloaded content from the device.
How to Check Disney+ Storage in iPhone Settings
This is the shortest route to an actual number in megabytes (MB) or gigabytes (GB). A gigabyte is about 1,000 megabytes.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Tap iPhone Storage. Your iPhone shows storage recommendations and a list of apps with the space each one uses. The list can take a few seconds to fill in.
- Find Disney+ in the list. The figure beside it is the total for the app.
- Tap Disney+ to open the detail screen for more information about its storage.
Result: you see the total space Disney+ is using on your iPhone. That total covers the app and the content saved inside it, which is where your downloads are kept. The detail screen usually separates the size of the app from its documents and data, so the larger second figure is a good estimate of your downloads.
Apple notes that cached data and temporary data might not count as usage on this screen. Cached data means files an app saves for a short time so things load faster. Because of that, treat the number as close rather than exact.
How to Check Available Storage in the Disney+ App
The Disney+ app answers a slightly different question. It does not show how much space your downloads use. It shows how much free space the iPhone has left, which tells you whether another movie will fit.
- Open the Disney+ app.
- Tap your profile icon.
- Select App Settings.
- Look at the bottom of the screen. Disney+ displays the available device storage space there.
Result: you know how much room is left before you start a new download. To see which titles are saved, go back and tap the Downloads icon. Disney+ says every title currently downloaded to the device is listed there.

How to Make Disney+ Downloads Smaller
Disney+ lets you pick a download quality, and that choice controls how much space each title needs.
- In the Disney+ app, tap your profile icon and select App Settings.
- Select Download Quality. Disney+ says the option may be named Video Quality instead.
- Choose Standard, Medium, or High.
- Standard requires the least storage and is the fastest to download.
- Medium requires less storage than High and downloads faster than High.
- High requires the most storage and is the slowest to download.
Result: downloads you start after the change use the new quality. Disney+ does not say that the setting converts titles you already saved, so if you want an existing download to be smaller, plan on removing it and downloading it again at the lower quality. To switch back, return to the same menu and pick a different option.
How to Delete Disney+ Downloads to Free Up Space
Removing a download only deletes the copy saved on your iPhone. You can download the title again later as long as Disney+ still offers it for download, but you will need an internet connection to do so. If you are about to travel, check what you still want to watch offline before you delete anything.
- Open the Disney+ app and tap the Downloads icon.
- For a movie, tap the device icon with a check mark next to the title. For a series, tap the series first, then tap the same icon next to the episode.
- Select Remove Download.
Result: the title leaves your Downloads list. To remove several at once, Disney+ says to tap Edit, select the titles, and tap the trash icon.
A download that is still in progress also takes up room. Disney+ says you can tap the download progress icon to pause it or remove the partial download.
Offload App and Delete App are different
The Disney+ detail screen in iPhone Storage has two buttons, and they do not do the same thing. Read this before you tap either one.
- Offload App: Apple says this frees up the storage used by the app but keeps its documents and data. Since downloads are part of that saved data, offloading is not a way to clear them.
- Delete App: Apple says this removes the app and its related data. That clears everything Disney+ stored on the iPhone, so you would need to install the app, sign in, and download your titles again.

How to Confirm the Space Was Freed
- Open Settings and tap General, then iPhone Storage.
- Wait for the list to load and find Disney+.
- Compare the figure with the one you saw earlier. It should be lower after you remove downloads.
You can also open App Settings in Disney+ and check that the available device storage at the bottom has gone up. If the numbers have not changed yet, close Settings, wait a moment, and open the storage screen again.
Troubleshooting
Disney+ is not in the iPhone Storage list
Give the list time to finish loading, then scroll through it. If Disney+ still does not appear, the app is probably not installed on this iPhone. Downloads are saved per device, so titles downloaded on an iPad or another phone do not use space here.
Disney+ still uses a lot of space after removing downloads
Open the Downloads screen and look for partial downloads or episodes inside a series folder that you missed. If nothing is listed and the app is still large, deleting the app from iPhone Storage and installing it again removes the app and its related data. Remember that this also removes any downloads you wanted to keep.
There is no Download Quality option or Downloads icon
Disney+ says the setting can be labeled Video Quality or Download Quality, so check for both names in App Settings. Also confirm that your plan includes downloads. Updating the app from the App Store is a reasonable next step if the menus look different from the ones described here.
All of your downloads disappeared
Disney+ says logging out of your account removes all downloaded content from the device. Downloads also depend on an active subscription and on the device connecting to the internet at least once every 30 days. Sign in, go online, and download the titles again.
Your iPhone shows a Storage Almost Full alert
Apple suggests checking the storage recommendations or removing some content, such as videos and apps. Removing Disney+ downloads you have already watched is one of the quicker ways to do that.

Disney+ does not publish a size for each title. The size depends on how long the movie or episode is and on the download quality you chose.
