Are You Heading Back to School? Amazon Prime Can Help

We recently wrote about some last-minute items that can be beneficial for heading back to school, but there is a membership at Amazon that can be just as helpful. Amazon Prime is a low-cost membership that you can sign up for on Amazon’s website that provides you with a lot of benefits, some of which are extremely useful for school students.

If you have heard of Amazon Prime before, then it was probably in the context of the shipping discounts that it provides. Items sold by Amazon receive free two-day shipping if you have a Prime membership, and you can upgrade to next-day shipping for only $3.99. But you also get access to the Amazon Prime video library, which is comparable in size and scope to Netflix. The per-month cost of Prime is actually lower than Netflix, which could make it more attractive purely as a video streaming service.

SolveYourTech.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

In addition to the free two-day shipping and the video-streaming library, Prime members are also eligible for the Kindle Lending Library, which allows you to choose from the available ebooks and borrow one of them at no cost each month. This is an excellent feature if you have an Amazon Kindle or a smartphone or tablet with a Kindle app.

For students specifically, however, there are a couple of key reasons that Amazon Prime is a good decision. The first one is the number of college textbooks that are sold on Amazon.

Most of these books can be found for a lower price than what you would find at your college bookstore, and many of these books can ship for free with your Amazon Prime membership.

The second reason is that Amazon sells food and household items in addition to everything else. So if your parents want to send you a care basket, paper towels, or food staples, then they can sign into Amazon and ship those items to you for free. For a good idea of college-related items that Amazon sells, check out their back-to-school page for a complete listing on Amazon.

If you think that Amazon Prime is a feature that you can take advantage of, you can learn more about it or sign up for a free 30-day trial on Amazon Prime’s informational page.
