There are a number of different applications that can stream videos on your iPhone 5, such as Netflix, Hulu or Vudu, but there is also a default Videos app that you can use to play videos that are store locally on the device. This is where you go to play videos that you have purchased or rented from iTunes. This app is easy to navigate and not heavy on features, but there are some settings that you can configure, including how the iPhone 5 should handle videos that you have already started watching.
iPhone 5 – Start a Video Where You Last Left Off
This is a good setting to have access to if you can only watch small clips of videos at once. It will allow you to save your viewing progress each time you close the Videos app, preventing the need to manually fast forward each time you want to resume watching. So follow the steps below to learn how to start playing a video where you left off on the iPhone 5.
Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.

Step 2: Scroll down to the Videos option, then tap it once to open it.

Step 3: Press the Start Playing button at the top of the screen.

Step 4: Select the Where Left Off option.

If you have an iPad, then you have the ability to configure the way videos play on that device as well. You can even choose whether to show closed captioning or not, as well as select the point at which the iPad should resume playing your videos.
