How to Turn Off the iPhone 5 Lock and Unlock Sound

By default, your iPhone 5 can make a lot of noise. Most of these noises are meant to give you an audio indication that some sort of event or action has occurred but, as you become comfortable using the phone and know what actions will cause certain results, those sounds might be unnecessary. Fortunately your iPhone 5 is also very easy to configure, and one of the options that you can set is whether or not the phone makes a sound each time it is locked or unlocked. So continue reading below to learn how to stop your iPhone 5 from generating the confirmation sound that you have successfully locked or unlocked your device.

Are you tired of having to manage headphone cords when you are listening to music or a movie on your iPhone 5? There are some excellent Bluetooth headphones available at Amazon that provide a wireless listening experience. They even have a built-in microphone that you can use to talk on phone calls or interact with Siri.

Disable the iPhone Lock and Unlock Sound

I am constantly changing my mind about whether or not I want to have certain sounds play on my iPhone 5, so it’s important to me to know where in the Settings menu I need to go to configure my device to how my current mood dictates. But I am usually of the opinion that the lock and unlock sound are more annoying than helpful, so it was one of the first options I disabled when I got my device. Simply follow the procedure outlined below to disable these sounds on your iPhone 5 as well.

Go and test out locking and unlocking your device to see if this option is preferable to the default setting. If not, you can simply return to the Sounds menu and press the button to restore it to the On setting.

You might have noticed the Keyboard Sounds option on that final menu, and you may be wondering what it is. You can read this article to learn what disabling that option will do, and whether it is something that you want to do.
