How to Use a Photo from Your iPhone as Your Echo Show Background

The steps in this article are going to show you how to change the background image on your Echo Show to one that you have on your iPhone.

  1. Open the Alexa app on your iPhone.
  2. Choose Devices at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select All Devices or Echo & Alexa.
  4. Choose the Echo Show.
  5. Select the Home Screen Background option.
  6. Scroll down and tap Add a photo from this device.
  7. Browse to and select the picture you want to use.

The Echo Show device from Amazon allows you to control other smart home devices via voice command, as well as display video calls and feeds from video devices like the Ring doorbell.

But there are some other things you can do with the Echo Show, including changing the Home screen background. You can even use a photo from your iPhone as this background, and that option can be set through the Alexa app on your iPhone.

How to Change the Echo Show Home Screen Background Image

The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 11 in iOS 13.3, using the Alexa iPhone app. If you don’t have the Alexa app you can download and install it here. You will need to set up that app prior to completing these steps.

Step 1: Open the Alexa app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Choose Devices at the bottom-right of the screen.

Step 4: Choose the Echo Show you want to customize.

Step 5: Select the Home Screen Background button.

Step 6: Scroll down and select the Add a photo from this device option at the bottom of the menu.

Step 7: Find and select the photo you want to set as your Home Screen background.
