Restoring the Apple TV
The steps below are going to restore your Apple TV to factory settings, then the Apple TV will download the latest software update. This will remove any information that you have entered on the device, such as your Apple ID, login information for Netflix, and any additional configurations that you might have made.
Step 1: Turn on your TV and switch it to the input channel to which the Apple TV is connected, then press and hold the Menu button on the Apple TV to navigate to the main menu.
Step 2: Select the Settings option from the main menu.
Step 2: Select the General option at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Scroll down and select the Reset option near the bottom of the menu.
Step 4: Select the Restore option from this menu.
Step 5: Select the Restore option again to confirm your choice, then the restore steps will begin on the Apple TV. It can be a substantial amount of time for the process to complete, as your Apple TV will need to download and install the latest software update as well.
