How to Open Microsoft Edge to a Specific Page (or Previous Pages)

To make Microsoft Edge open to a specific page, select Settings and more (…) › Settings › Start, home, and new tab page. Under When Edge starts, choose Open these pages, then add the page. To pick up where you left off instead, choose the option that reopens your previous session.

How to Open Edge to a Specific Page

Select Settings and more (…) in the top-right corner, then select Settings.
Select Start, home, and new tab page in the left sidebar.
Under When Edge starts, select Open these pages.
Select Add a new page, enter the web address, and select Add.
Repeat step 4 to add more pages.

Result: The next time you start Edge, each page you added opens in its own tab.

Use the tabs you already have open

If the pages you want are already open, you don’t have to type each address. Microsoft notes that you can select Use all open tabs under Open these pages to add them all at once.

Result: Every tab open in that window is added to your startup list. Remove any you don’t want with the … menu next to the page.

How to Open Edge With Your Previous Pages

Go to Settings › Start, home, and new tab page.
Under When Edge starts, choose Open tabs from the previous session. Microsoft’s guide calls this option Continue where you left off, so the label may differ in your version.

Result: Edge reopens the tabs you had open when you last closed it, which is handy if you restart your computer in the middle of a task.

How to Set the Home Button Page

The Home button is a separate setting from the startup page. Microsoft’s home page article lists these steps:

Go to Settings › Start, home, and new tab page.
Turn on Show home button on the toolbar.
Choose New tab page, or select Enter URL and type the page you want.

Result: A house icon appears on the toolbar and opens the page you chose. It doesn’t change what opens when Edge starts.

If Edge Doesn’t Open the Right Page

Check the profile. Edge settings are saved per profile. If you use more than one, change the setting in each.

Your organization manages Edge. On a work or school computer, startup pages may be set by an administrator, and the option may be locked.
An extension changed it. Some extensions take over the new tab or startup page. Check Settings › Extensions and turn off anything you don’t recognize.
