To find videos and reels you recently watched on Facebook, open your Activity log: click your profile picture, select Settings & privacy, then Activity log, and open the Videos you’ve watched category. Posts you liked, reacted to or commented on are listed in the same log. Facebook does not keep a list of every post you only scrolled past, so those have to be found with Search or by visiting the profile, Page or group that shared them.
This guide covers the Facebook website on a computer and the Facebook app for iPhone and Android, based on Facebook’s Help Center as of October 2026. Facebook changes its menus often, so a label on your screen may be worded a little differently.
What Facebook records and what it does not
The Activity log is a private page that lists your own Facebook activity in date order, newest first. Facebook’s What’s included in my activity log page says it covers things like your posts, your likes, reactions and comments, and videos you’ve watched. Only you can see it.
That leaves a gap. A photo or text post you looked at without reacting is not in the list of categories Facebook describes. Knowing which kind of item you are looking for tells you where to start.

Before you start
- Sign in to the same Facebook profile you used when you saw the post or reel. Each profile has its own activity log.
- On a phone, use the current version of the Facebook app. Older versions can show different menus.
- You do not need to turn anything on. Facebook adds entries to the log automatically.
Find videos and reels you watched on a computer
These steps follow Facebook’s Find your Facebook activity log and How to use activity log on Facebook to find specific content help pages.
- Go to facebook.com and click your profile picture in the top right.
- Select Settings & privacy, then click Activity log. The log opens on its own page.
- Click Activity history on the left.
- Under Activity type, open the categories and click Videos you’ve watched. Facebook’s help pages place it with your other Facebook activity in one article and under Logged actions and other activity in another, so check both groups if you do not see it right away.
- Scroll the list. The most recent entries are at the top. Click an entry to open that video or reel again.
To jump to a certain week or month, click Date, choose a year from the dropdown menu, pick a month, and click Save Changes. This is the quickest way to find something you watched a while ago.
Facebook’s Help Center talks about “reels and videos” together and does not list a separate reel history in the activity log. Expect short reels and longer videos to share the one Videos you’ve watched list.
Find watched videos and reels on iPhone or Android
The app reaches the same log from your profile.
- Open the Facebook app and tap Menu (the three lines or your small profile picture, depending on your device).
- Tap your name to open your profile.
- Tap Options (the three dots) below your profile picture, then tap Activity Log.
- Tap Activity History at the top to show your activity in date order.
- Tap Filters, then Categories, and choose Videos you’ve watched.
- Scroll to the video or reel and tap it to open it.
To narrow the list by time, tap Filters, then Date, pick a Start Date and an End Date, and tap Done.
Some versions of the app also show a watch history list inside the video or Reels tab. Facebook’s Help Center does not describe that shortcut, and it does not appear for everyone, so use the Activity log route if you cannot find it.
Find posts you liked, reacted to or commented on
A post you interacted with is much easier to recover than one you only read.
- Open Activity log using the steps for your device above.
- Open the group Facebook describes as Your activity across Facebook, which covers posts you’ve created, likes and other interactions. On some accounts the same items sit under Interactions.
- Choose the category for likes and reactions, or the one for comments.
- Click or tap an entry to open the original post.
If you reacted with something other than Like, such as Love or Haha, the post still appears here. Facebook’s reels help page confirms that every reaction you leave on reels and videos is listed in your activity log.
Check Saved and your liked reels
Saved is Facebook’s bookmark list. It only holds items you chose to save, but it is worth a look because it is easy to save something and forget.
- Saved items on a computer: go to facebook.com/saved, then click a category on the left or click an item.
- Saved items in the app: tap Menu, then Saved, and tap a collection or an item.
- Saved or liked reels in the app: tap Menu, tap your name, tap Reels, then tap Saved or Liked.
- Saved reels on a computer: click your name on the left of your Feed, click Reels, then Saved Reels.
Facebook’s See reels and videos you’ve saved or liked page notes two limits. The Liked list is offered in the iPhone and Android apps, not on a computer. It also leaves out reels you unliked and reels where you used a reaction other than Like. Those other reactions are in the activity log instead.
If you only scrolled past the post
Facebook’s help pages do not describe any list of posts that were simply shown in your Feed. If you did not watch, react, comment or save, try these instead:
- Search Facebook. Type a few words you remember from the post, or the name of the person or Page, in the search box.
- Go to the source. Open the profile, Page or group you think posted it and scroll its recent posts.
- Check your notifications. If a friend tagged you or the post came from a group you follow closely, a notification may link straight to it.
- Ask the friend who shared it. If it reached you because a friend shared or commented, it is on their profile or in their own activity log.
Reloading your Feed and scrolling is the least reliable option, because Facebook reorders the Feed each time it loads.
Save posts and reels so you can find them later
Saving is the dependable way to get back to something. Facebook explains it in How do I save something on Facebook to view it later.
- On a post, click or tap Options (the three dots) in the top right of the post.
- Select Save post, Save link, Save video or Save event. The wording matches the type of post.
- On a reel, tap Options while it is playing, then tap Save reel.
Saved items are visible only to you unless you add them to a collection that you have shared with other people. To confirm the save worked, open Saved and look for the item at the top.
Remove a video from your watch history
Warning: removing an entry is permanent. Facebook states that something deleted from the activity log cannot be restored, so the entry will not come back and you will lose that way of finding the video again.
- Open Activity log and go to Videos you’ve watched.
- Find the entry, then click or tap Options (the three dots) on the right side of it.
- Choose Delete.
The choices in that menu depend on the type of entry. Facebook’s How to use activity log on Facebook to manage content page explains that you may see different options for different content. The watched-videos list may also show an option at the top to clear the entire video watch history at once. Facebook’s Help Center does not document that button, so it may be missing on your account. If you use it, every entry is removed together.
Deleting an entry removes the record from your log. It does not delete the video itself, which stays on Facebook for as long as its owner keeps it there.
Troubleshooting
Videos you’ve watched is missing
Make sure you clicked Activity history first on a computer, or opened Filters and then Categories in the app. The category is inside the Activity type list, not on the first screen. If it is still missing, try the other device type: the website and the app do not always show the same layout.
The list is empty or stops early
Facebook’s I can’t find the information I’m looking for in my activity log page gives four reasons: nothing exists for the category or dates you chose, the information is not available through the activity log, it was deleted, or Facebook is no longer storing it. Clear any date filter first. Facebook does not publish how long watched-video entries are kept, so do not count on the list going back indefinitely.
The entry is there but the video will not open
The owner may have deleted the video or changed who can see it. The log entry can remain even when the video is no longer available to you. Nothing on your side will bring it back.
You are on the wrong profile
If you switch between a personal profile and a Page or an additional profile, each one keeps a separate log. Switch to the profile you were using when you watched, then open the log again.
The menus look different
Facebook’s help pages have a device selector with separate steps for a computer, iPhone, iPad, Android, the mobile browser and Facebook Lite. Choose your device there to see the current wording.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see every post I viewed on Facebook?
No. Facebook documents records for videos you’ve watched, your likes, reactions and comments, your searches and items you saved. It does not offer a list of every post that appeared in your Feed.
Can other people see what I watched?
No. Facebook states that only you can see your activity log. Keep in mind that public actions, such as a like or a comment on a public post, can still be seen on that post by its audience.
Does Facebook have a separate history for reels?
Facebook’s Help Center does not describe a separate reel history. It points to the activity log for watched videos and to the Saved and Liked lists in the Reels section of your profile.
Does a video count as watched if I only saw a few seconds?
Facebook does not say how long a video has to play before it is added to the list. If a video you remember is missing, it may not have been recorded, so try Search as well.
Will clearing my watch history change my Feed?
It removes the record you can see. Facebook does not state how much this changes the videos it suggests. For the controls Facebook does provide, see how to reset your Facebook feed.
Can I see who viewed my posts or profile?
