Some people like to purchase a new laptop with a lower amount of RAM and a smaller hard drive because they know that those are two components that can be upgraded easily, typically for less money than it would cost to buy a new computer with those specs. But the Dell Inspiron i15R-2105sLV has both a 1 TB hard drive and 8 GB of RAM, meaning that most people will not have a reason to upgrade the computer, and that it will be ready for use after the initial setup.
So if you find a large amount of RAM and a massive hard drive to be two appealing elements of a new computer, then continue reading to see what else this machine has in store for you.

This laptop is for someone that wants a large amount of RAM and a large hard drive, but is not comfortable upgrading those components themselves. If you are looking for a computer with these specs, you will struggle to find another option in this price range. The 3rd generation Intel i5 processor is very powerful, and will be able to multitask regular programs, such as web browsers and Microsoft Office programs, with ease. It will run programs like AutoCAD and Photoshop, but the lack of a dedicated graphics card will prevent those programs from running as well as they could. This is also the same reason why you should look elsewhere if you intend to do a lot of heavy gaming with this computer.
I love the fact that this computer has over 6 hours of battery life, and the 4 USB 3.0 ports, combined with many of the other excellent specs of this machine, ensure that it will still be relevant and fast when used with the next generation of USB devices. And, because of the 1 TB hard drive, you should have little trouble storing all of the digital media files and programs that you will accumulate as the entertainment model continues its’ move towards digital media as opposed to physical discs.
The Dell build quality and keyboard make this a computer that will last for quite a while when confronted with normal wear and tear. Since you will also be able to avoid any immediate hard drive or RAM upgrades in the near future, you can feel confident that this is a good value purchase that will last you for years to come. If you are interested in a Dell laptop and think that you might not need all of this hard drive space and RAM, you might be able to save some money by going with a different option, such as the Dell Inspiron i15N-2728BK on Amazon. It is over $200 cheaper, and has only a slight reduction in hard drive space, RAM and processing capabilities.
