Two of the most important factors that I look for when purchasing a laptop are the processor and the battery life, because those are the two biggest factors that affect the performance of the computer and how easily the computer can be taken with me. Plus, other important factors, such as the RAM and hard drive, are much easier to upgrade manually. This computer has a good processor and an excellent battery life, so I know that i will be able to do everything that I need to, while still having enough power available to be away from a power outlet for most of the day. The fact that this laptop also has more RAM than average and a bigger hard drive is simply a bonus.
This is definitely an ideal computer for a student at college. It has enough space on the hard drive to store all of their images, music and videos, while still leaving ample space for programs that they will need to install for their school curriculum. There’s enough power and performance to do some light gaming, while also still being sufficient for majors that might require some more intensive applications like AutoCAD or Photoshop.
But this is also a great computer choice for someone that needs something for work, due largely to the multi-tasking capabilities. Many people that use their computers for work will have several programs that stay open throughout the day. This drains the computer’s available resources, so it’s important that this computer has enough performance to spread around to everything that you are going to use. Plus, don’t forget that this computer includes Microsoft Office Starter 2010, so you will have full, ad-supported versions of Word and Excel that you can use to edit and create documents in those programs.
