Dell Inspiron i15N-2548BK 15-Inch Laptop (Black) Review

When you’re buying a laptop computer for a student, whether you are the student or the student is someone you know, there are a couple of factors that should always be in the back of your mind whenever you look at a new laptop. The computer should be reliable and dependable, because a lot of students won’t have the financial resources available to them to seek out support if something should happen to it.

The laptop should also be powerful enough to run any programs that might be required for their chosen major, but not so powerful that it ends up costing a lot of money. The Dell Inspiron i15N-2548BK 15-Inch Laptop (Black) fits this model very nicely, and is a computer that you should consider carefully, whether you are looking to buy it for a student or as a regular personal computer. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to

This computer is meant to be comfortable to use, while still being as solid as a rock. It can withstand significant travel, which is why it is such a good choice for a student. Whether you are carrying it around from class to class or moving around your dorm constantly, this laptop can take whatever you throw at it. And the fact that it includes Intel’s i3 processor means that it will handle the computing tasks you throw at it, too.

One of my favorite things about this computer is the keyboard. The Dell chiclet style keyboard is roomy and well-spaced, which is going to make extended typing sessions that much easier to manage. And the fact that it doesn’t have a full numeric keypad means that you will be making far fewer typing mistakes. While I can appreciate the benefit in having a full numeric keypad (especially if you plan to use the free included Excel version for a lot of data entry) I have found that I use it very infrequently on the laptops that do have one.

The two biggest benefits of this laptop, to me, are the build quality and the comfort of the keyboard. There are definitely other computers in this price range with better performance components (like this one, for example), but if you are a fan of Dell computers and are more worried about an enjoyable usage experience than running a lot of programs or playing games, then the Dell Inspiron i15N-2548BK could be the right computer for you.
