How to Disable Wi-Fi Connection While Sleeping in Android Marshmallow
The steps in this article were performed on a Samsung Galaxy On5 in the Android Marshmallow operating system.
This setting will cause your phone to disconnect from Wi-Fi when the device goes to sleep.
While this will save battery life, it will also result in increased data usage, as any data that is downloaded will be done so while the device is connected to a cellular network.
Step 1: Open the Apps folder.
Step 2: Select the Settings app.
Step 3: Choose the Wi-Fi option.
Step 4: Touch the More option at the top-right of the screen.
Step 5: Select the Advanced option.
Step 6: Choose the Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep option.
Step 7: Tap the Never option.
As mentioned previously, this will disconnect you from Wi-Fi while the device is asleep. This will result in increased data usage.
