How to Change Margins in Word 2010 from Inches to Centimeters

There isn’t a standardized unit of measurement for the entire world, so Microsoft Word provides a number of options. If you live in the United States, then you may be wondering how to change margins from inches to centimeters in Word because they are shown in inches by default.

Everyone has different needs when it comes to working with Microsoft Word 2010, but sometimes those needs might extend into areas that you would not expect.

However, Microsoft gives you a lot of ways to customize its popular word-processing program, and changing the units of measurement is one of the options that is available for you. So if you find yourself in a situation where you need to display your margins as centimeters instead of inches, then you can make that adjustment on the Word Options menu.

If you are simply looking to figure out what a one inch margin is in centimeters, then the conversion is 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters.

The 1 inch in cm conversion and the 1.5 inch to cm conversion are two of the most common ones people need to know.

But constantly remembering that conversion metric can be tricky, and it is very easy to accidentally assume that you are working in one unit of measurement when the other is the one for which the values are being displayed. So if you want to use centimeters for your margin values in Word 2010, then follow the guide below.
